Dear Patient
Great progress has been made in cancer medicine recently, improving the patient’s quality of life and life expectancy. Nevertheless, treatment options for highly malignant tumors such as pancreatic cancer, skin cancer (malignant melanoma), and brain cancer (e.g. malignant or high-grade glioma) are still unsatisfactory. To address this problem, new targeted therapies based on modern technologies are being developed.
Antisense medications are a novel, innovative treatment technology that may improve the way malignant tumors are treated. Trabedersen (AP 12009) is an antisense drug directed against transforming growth factor beta 2 that is currently being tested in clinical studies for various cancer indications. The SAPPHIRE study is an ongoing clinical Phase III study, which includes patients with recurrent or refractory anaplastic astrocytoma.
This website provides information on antisense technology and clinical studies of trabedersen in patients with high-grade glioma (anaplastic astrocytoma and glioblastoma).
Do you want to know more about antisense technology, trabedersen and the SAPPHIRE study? Please browse this website for detailed information on the technology and the encouraging results it has delivered in high-grade glioma so far.
